Caging Curtain

Caging Curtain

A Poem by OtherWorldWoman

Alone for none to crack a smile
in the midst of the crowded lounge
for none to cast a frown
Myself in the frostbreath of the shadows
behind the warm and friendly den
where music plays and laughter chimes
Each songnote and beat travels
through the caging curtain.
Alone.
Backs face me one by one
No way to leave the darkness
At once shoes hit the ground running
Running so quick
so far away and
still the sunshine never comes...

You catch the feel of "alone-ness" so well with your words. Thank you for sharing

Surrounded, and yet, cramped by loneliness. That is our society today. Smothered by strangers who remain strangers. I was just talking to a friend about something similar to this. Very unique point of view.
