In THEORY

In THEORY

A Poem by OtherWorldWoman

Warmth

In theory does not result in numbness

We are the exception

The embracing glow of red and gold

Has turned as arrowheads

Piercing, paralyzing the one it had pleased

The world says to me

"I am not built upon the scorch of fire,

Nor the beauty of the rain"

No sides does this random life take

Love far from grasp

And appeal locked far down and deep

Love stories are just as much fantasies

As fairies and leprauchans

Or would we have it backwards?

After all, our world lies to us

Speaks of no certain truth

Rather only of what it may wish

Have some mercy on the vulnerable

Give a little peace to the unrested

Surrender a single kiss

Enlighten me in love and have me be

No more cautious to its truth

Prove me wrong, my world

Give a little peace to the unrested

very nice!! your work lives up to your name - abstract but very relevant and potent - the myths of reality - love, the complexities of our nature and actions! you raise interesting questions enveloped in carefully chosen words!! great!!
