Indecision in Sanity

Indecision in Sanity

A Poem by OtherWorldWoman

Toxic jacket seeps into toxic skin
Alone and paranoid
But
Everything is okay
everything is okay
Issues are so irrelevant
Why does it matter?
Why does it have to hurt?
I'm dying
for this happiness
and to know
that it isn't as bad as it seems
I'm not desperate
I'm just looking for something more
This world is so big and broken
It's too structured and I can't stand it
The absence of drugs is pain
But,
everything is okay
everything is okay
Everything
is
okay

I sympathize with you. Attempting to forget something that has been such a big part of who you are for so long is hard. I have been there and am still doing that... great poem

Desperation and obsession of sorts. And an interesting title. Well written.

This resonates with me, because I have stood in such a place before. That quietly consuming longing to feel complete, or even just content... it's a lot to handle sometimes. You captured it in a way that had me hanging on every word, especially with lines like, "The absence of drugs is pain," and the recurring, "Everything is okay," repeated like a mantra, and I can't tell if it's being said in denial or as a means of coping. Anyway, this is really good.

Sometimes its tough to face the fact that we're just fine.
