A Poem by Scout

Do they really know who I am?

Can they look inside my heart?

Can they read the thoughts in my mind?

No one truly knows anyone

Are my friends really my friends

or are they only masquerading?

In their heart do they truly care?

When they go home do they think of me as an enemy?

Do I really care?

Am I really their friend?

They don't know who I am

I love them but they don't know my true feelings

my beliefs, my sorrows

because I've never told thme and they've never asked

Is that even considered as being friends?

It all seems so fake

like no friendship exsists

I'm standing here a lone

knowing who I truly am but

not knowing anyone else

Why can't we reveal ourselves?

Why are we too scared?

We should rip off our masks

and sing out our feelings

I would tell all my friends

but would they listen or even care

I guess that means I'm just as scared

as everyone else

So how do I know who's real or nor?

Who cares or doesn't?

How do they even know who I am?

i love this.
it seems that majority of us also have the same questions sitting inside our heads.
one thing that i can say as to why people find it hard to really show their selves is that the society has a lot of norms and standards. people tend to just follow this and if you are someone who stand out or who doesn't like them, you will be an outcast.

well, im sorry for blabbering too much.
its just that i have related so much in this one.

Good Job!

About
I love writing and reading. It is the best feeling to sit down and write out your feelings in poetry, or imagine a dream world and write a novel. I can not imagine not writing ever, it is like my oxyg.. more..
