A Smile From a Silhouette

A Smile From a Silhouette

A Poem by AMetaphoricalSoul

Your smile is a storm

A tempest that washes over me

Filling my lungs and stealing my breath

With waves of light shining from within you and crashing through my eyes

Making my stomach think it could fly

Your smile pulls at me like the silhouette of a forgotten dream

I've felt it before but not like this

Like a memory that hasn't happened yet

A breath from a soul I thought was out of reach

Drawing me in like the warmth of the setting sun

And when the sky breaks and the moon rises

Your smile is still there

Shining with the light of every star in the night

This is such a pure, beautiful poem full of unfiltered love and wonderful, passionate writing. The build up is so powerful and the love here is so obvious and clear, it’s almost like a Disney love song. But although it feels classical, there’s something more here. It feels more complicated and mature and very sure. Thank you so much for sharing such a sparkling piece of poetry.
