Gargoyles

Gargoyles

A Poem by Stephanie W.

What do you do

When your God is a gargoyle

With gristly marble skin

Haunting in the church of your love

Pissing in your holy waters

And laughing at your hymns.

Unwrapping every sacred inch

of your modest covered skins

And burning the wood of the cross you carry

To set flame to your convictions

And you know at the end of this long prism awaits

A grotesque greeting at those golden gates.

What do I do?

If he had not failed me so,

I would not be asking you.

I cant help but wonder what happened to make you write such sad words here.......I have heard of this kind of disappointment before and there is truly little to be found so sad....

I hope this is poetic in nature only and not based on real personal events.....
