Razor Sharp Words

Razor Sharp Words

A Poem by KAREN

I am the sponge,

your words are liquid

soaking my soul with everlasting pain.

Love has lost its sheen.

Arms are like glass cutting me little by little,

theres no warmth left.

I am the gasoline,

your words are fire

kindling up old memories,

blistering my already dead heart.

Serenity has run dry.

Peace no longer lingers in our lives.

I am an open wound,

your words are salt

pouring over me,

and sprinkling my body with fear.

Our home is no longer a safe haven,

it is the gates of hell.

I am the dart board,

your words are the darts

piercing me to the very core.

My blood cries for mercy.

My bones cry for healing.

My heart cries for your love.

I am the wife,

and you are my husband.

There is nothing left to be said,

but you will find a clean knife

and soon cut me again.

The abusive tornado love hate relationship... you described it very well.

The horrible pain of an abusive relationship. One can't help but wonder what ever happened to the love?

This is great. A very painful and tragic situation you write about.

An incredible depiction of how so many homes are. Without peace and serenity. They are no longer the safe havens that they should be. This is no way for anyone to live and oh so sad. Penned well.

Very powerful and you expressed the feelings of such a bad marriage really well... the feeling of being trapped...going from good to bad and bad to worse...excellent write!!!

I think that was a very powerful poem which expressed how a beautiful union of love called marriage can end up being a a relation which offers nothing but pain and sorrow. The last verse clearly points out that there is little hope for improvement because the pain of the other is either neglected or goes unnoticed.
Well written.

funny how cruel we can be to the ones we supposedly love

Very nice. My sense of emotion lies underneath the blade. It is the offense that drives the poem, not the defense. Very nicely written! I love your style of writing! Thank you for that last poem. I know i haven't been on much, you know how life outside the computer is. Work, college, most of all, writing new pieces. I have two I am working on. :P ANyways, before I ramble on even more, I just wanted to say, nice read.
