Skin From Bone

Skin From Bone

A Poem by The Young Lion Last Beat

That which wraps
itself around our bodies
from birth will loosen
it's loving embrace
from our jittery bones
and wither in time
till we are lain beneath
the ground and left cold
from it's absence.

And beneath the living
our carbon will be stolen
for all of time all the while
we don't exist.

We will all pay a debt to flesh
for our skin is always fading in
temporal eternities of
the modicum self.

Clever and perceptive. Especially like the pragmatism of the sentiment. Good words.
