Springtime Thunderstorm

Springtime Thunderstorm

A Poem by Katie B
"

A poem I wrote about one of my favorite things in nature, a thunderstorm. I especially love the way the air smells after it is done

"

A warm, gentle breeze
tinged with chill,
swirls around the trees,
causing the newborn leaves to dance.

Upon the horizon,
the hint of dark clouds.
The rumbling echo
of the first thunderclap.

The breeze changes voracity
and turns into the wind.
The sun's shinning rays
masked by the gray clouds.

The raindrops slowly fall,
polka dotting the sidewalks below.
With a quick flash
a lightening bolt grazes the Earth.

Raindrops fall with deep intensity,
playing out a twinkling melody.
The Earth with all its greens,
absorbs the sweet nourishment.

Thunder and lightening,
begins their synchronized dance.
Lighting up the darken sky
with tremendous sound.

The storm eventually fades,
and the sun resumes its merry way.
I step out and take a breath,
to enjoy the air's fresh scent.

I like a storm. it seem to clean-up the world and make nature come alive. I like the description of the storm in your words. The ending is true. The air seem cleaner and the world more alive after a big storm. A outstanding poem.
