Rejection

You sell yourself so cheaply

as a schizophrenic w***e

the only buyer, Satan,

came a knocking at your door.

And when you saw his gaze

you were thoroughly transfixed,

so eager to learn his trade

and get up to all his tricks.

It’s funny how declaring love

and being told to go

can twist a mind, bend a soul

and drag you oh so low.
