The Good Fight

I grieve the passing of the Angels

for some have shed their wings

and in so doing

have lost their faith.

Halos surrendered in battle

as evil spreads its venereal disease

will allow the plague to rage

unchecked.

Many innocents will fall

to this sickness of the mind

that injects such poison

into hearts, creating Satan’s zombies.

We must rise again

our stallion mounts afresh

and set afire this putrid Lord

so that he is cast once more

to the darkest corners of the Earth.

strangely (or not) while reading this i was reminded of my little sister. i constantly wish to bottle her innocence because it physically pains my heart that she will inevitably grow up, shed her wings, lose her innocence, become victim to the darkness that is this world.

beyond that, you do incredibly well with taking cliche images and pulling them off! i love how you can talk about angels and demons, heaven and hell, and sound so natural. that's something that is very hard for many writers (myself included)

That's the problem my friend, the earth has no corners, so even casting them off, finds them coming round again, with even more vengence than before. Evil only multiplies, it never changes. It is a contagion and using its vast arsenol of lies, that are oh so convincing, it wages a never ending war on another's happiness. Very cool piece.

I agree with you Gabriel, but evil only multiplies. It is like a rat or a wolf, kill one and they breed many to take the place of the one. I'm in this fight, I will never back down, but evil is very powerful.
