Vacant Death

You led your pack of feral dogs

through the dark halls of Hades

to seek the flesh of perfect poets

who would expose your psychosis.

But the Angels sought you out

and smote you down

before the distemper in your brain

drove you to complete madness,

and your certain death

from diseased lungs,

breathed from the stinking pit

will be sweet release

to all humanity.

You constantly exhibit the benefits of a classical education. The ability to express such rage and horror in a beuatiful form, to tie together the hounds of hell and biblical avanging angels - nicely balanced. Good choices of words with the "diseased lungs", "stinking pit" and "sweet release" giving a strong juxtoposition. And "smote" is the perfect word choice as smite has such a specific meaning far beyond mere killing. Well done!
