Brokentown

Brokentown

A Poem by Stuart Douglas
"

From the 2007 album Eden Slips Away

"

We're on a downward road this time

and faded arrows point us

back to the days when our hearts were aligned

So is this where it ends?

losing you my one true friend

Even God is too sad to show his face

It's the same old story, we're the same

The plot gets twisted the roles don't change

and now we're stuck here..

as we crumble down

here in Brokentown again

So much anger inside of you, and me

It's hard to stand up straight

when someone knocks you off your feet

Come on in, close the door

Where's the girl that I knew before?

Could it be, now we see it's too late?

It's the same old story, we're the same

The lines get broken, the words seem strange

and we get weaker

as we drive each other into the ground

if it seems hard ,it's 'cause it is

There's nothing left inside your kiss

and now we're stuck here..

as we crumble down

here in Brokentown again

And I don't wanta fight

"cause it's only hurting me

Can we say goodbye?

before we ruin the memories again

It's the same old story, we're the same

The lies get bigger, the truth don't change

and we get weaker

as we drive each other into the ground

If it seems hard, it's 'cause it is

There's nothing left inside this kiss

and now we're stuck here..

as we crumble down here in Brokentown again

as we crumble down here in Brokentown again
