when i was little

i saw girls pick petals

off their flowers

for dumb boys that

didn't even care

and i wondered

why waste flowers

over hoping my peanuts

will rise when i can

grow oak trees

so i decided to not

grow a garden for boys

until i met a guy

that swept me off my feet

and bought me flowers

but i didnt kill them

by pulling their beauty off

i stuck them in the sun

to grow and become bigger

but i forgot the water them

and eventually they wilted

as did the love from

the boy that said he cared
