A Call to 911A Poem by s_r_j_littleMarch 9, 2015
I put up a good fight
But still he held me tight The result of acting before you think It was over in a blink But he never noticed my phone So when he finally left me alone I ran ever so quietly and hid Sent a mass text cry for help over the grid For I dare not speak to make the call For the fear that all will fall Once the message has been sent I hid the phone in a vent Then sat there quietly cursing myself For being so weak like a broken shelf When the coast was temporarily clear I dashed for the phone against my fear Never have I been so happy to see That help was coming and we'd be free I hid the phone again when I heard footfalls But I also heard a cat that was trying to call Only to discover it was no cat after all My little sister communicating through the wall For our foe locked her out And most likely bound her without doubt I hear the foe turn in her direction I banged on the locked door to gain his attention The best I could do to gain her protection When the sirens rang out I saw his reflection Has this nightmare come to an end? So I can run to a friend I need hugs No more thugs Safety for us and to relax A movie with snacks My friends will help me forget This tragedy of a threat © 2015 s_r_j_little |
