Battle of Life

Battle of Life

A Poem by susmitadas

I was born with no clothes,
No fear, inhibition or hatred,
Under the shelter of an angel's arms,
Where I felt the warmth of a mother's love,
With wobbling legs, I touched the ground,
I faltered, but the angel made me walk,
But, myriad of fears besiege me now,
With no one around to walk me through,
'Life is a relentless battle', I now feel,
Alas! The angel never taught me to lose and leave,
A desire to dream glows in my mind
Dreams which push me to forget the mess around,
My life is worth a million hopes,
Which never fail to shine when there is darkness profound,
An angel is what I deserve to be,
For I have learnt to smile through zillion miseries
