this poem explains itself. its a subject that makes me sad honestly
I hear the gun shots, another body drops Blood fills the streets, that red was as bold as he a innocent, The shooter speeds off in a benz, his heart filled with anger and sin. But those are the streets right? Get shot for a pair of nike's. minds molded by the life of a thug. but, thats the trend right? Whyy has it come to this? lord, we have to fight this, we are just a bunch of kids, blacks killing blacks, MLK aint die for that. were better than this, Our lives are meant to be LIVED. Or am i just a dumb kid. with false faith in this human race. with just a dream like MLK.
Movie scene: Ice Cube told his African brother (No, they were actually in Africa and his brother lived there) something like, "Don't be like us...We got our freedom and went crazy." Powerful line, meaning freedom came at a price. Young people reach an age, freedom comes, they go nuts. Poor people hit the lottery, they go nuts. Insecure young males join a gang, nuts. Corporate America gets power, wants more, nuts...see a pattern?
"Why has it come to this?" It's our nature outside of God's plan.
Thanks for the thought-provoking piece

thank you for your feed back i really appreciate it
This was brilliantly written. There were a few grammatical & unction errors, however, that through me off a bit while reading. But other than that, well done!
You're not just a dumb kid. Inner-city crime has been here for many, many years. Such a shame to see it too. MLK was a great man who strived for equality among black and white people. I don't think he expected such brutality among his own race. It is complicate issue. Great job here.
Everything comes from the heart for me. i have been through many struggles i like to display my feelings through writing. dont woory im not a mean person. i hope my poetry can move people i hope i can.. more..
