Tormentor

Tormentor

A Poem by Tabitha t

I used to fear you.

I used to cringe.

I used to cry.

All because of you.

Because of you...

I whithered at a touch.

Because of you...

I wouldnt sleep at night.

Ive decided now...

That its time to fight.

I will not cry

I will not cringe.

I will have my tormentor (Thats you) slain.

What I like about this is that you could be speaking metaphorically. While it seems like you are talking to an abuser, you could also be talking to depression, cancer, a phobia, alcohol, etc...

Very well done.

That last line it a bit upsetting, but I can see how someone could be pushed into this as a last resort. I would pray that it never had to go that far.

Whoa, that is dark. Especially that last line with the (Thats you) bit. Definitely a finger pointer in that one. You got to read "Blood of the Scarecrow" then. You will relate. Kudos.

you captured the subject so well!

Good. A strong and vibrant poem. I would leave the italicized phrase out of the last line; reads better without it.

Made up. I tried to put myself in a situation where I was being abused and to see it how they would

That last line is, well, a bit unsettling. The flow of this is smooth, telling an all too real story of abusive relationships.
