When He Said!

An inner observational poem

 

 

 

“You remind me

Of when I was young,

When someone told me not to,

And I just had to.”

 

He was right!

She still instinctively has to.

No matter the consequence,

A woman has to do, what

 

Her heart tells her to.

It's brief, and it's so very true. I like the matter-of-fact wording. Four of the nine lines end with "to" though, and that sticks out awkwardly.

Young and blissfully following the latest impulse; trial and error have yet to dull the senses. If the lady's heart remains constant and in tune, then let it lead, lead, lead.
