Trust

Trust

A Poem by Jon

The flame of friendship that I wanted to hold has been snuffed out and died of cold

I’m kind of grateful for the stone you threw – didn’t mean to but you still knew

Exactly how you’d make me feel – but you just pretended it wasn’t real

And as I walked out of that door I knew it was the final straw

No more will I need you at all – you stepped aside and let me fall

You disrespected me and killed my trust – so go ahead do what you must

But don’t expect me to just wait – you left me with nothing but hate

OMG jon I loved this! absolutely honest, and real, so beautiful in it's purity. I have written many poems of friendships torn apart. I can relate to this, and have fallen in love with this piece. KUDOS to you jon, Kudos to you. xo -D.E.
