Carmen Triste

Carmen Triste

A Poem by d. c. smith

I've got a vendetta against the television and its colors

They stay all night long to join a family eating supper

They sing their sad song about the brave and young soldiers

"Look alive, gentlemen, for Death wants sturdy shoulders"

this sounds familiar, worn and comforting. Also like Tyler Durden. Palahnuik would be proud, son.

The more I read this the more I have the feeling that there is more to it than just turning off the news while eating dinner. What is the meaning behind the Spanish-themed title?

Very well written, sir.

Btw I like the word vendetta, it works much better than fight or grudge.
