Break Free

Break Free

A Poem by Tarry Franck

You stand before me
Weapon in hand
Wanting to slash my throat
Is what I understand,
You say you love me
Love does not carry such hatred
So how can that be,
I believe you have love
Confused with obsession
The kind you are wanting
Does not reside here
I beg of you
Please find another.

Your freedom is worth fighting for. A very moving piece. A love hate relationship can be too destructive. Great poetry.

obsessed lover right there suffocating their obsession, a person asks for the enough kind of love not less and not way more
breaking free is the only solution and you came up with a great poem out of it

This is real poetry. The dance between love and hate is very close. I like the story and the wise ending. Hate can bind people in the bad way. Better to run then to know years of torture. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

When I read the poem, I remembered John Lennon being killed by an obssessed fan and I think this really is an exact representation of that. Many artists are being targeted by their fans and it's hard for them to even go outside their own houses because of the fear of ending up dead. I like how you stated that love should never be an obssession and that, maybe, should be a living principle in each of us.
