My Huckleberry

My Huckleberry

A Poem by Tarry Franck

Deep in the night
A conversation was held
Giving clues from one another
As if we were searching for gold
And maybe so, a treasure
That no other would know,
Sharing traits that were in common
Enjoying all the innuendos
That were given and taken
He set my heart afire, just blazing,
This man of words
You know who you are, my Huckleberry
You mesmerized me
You held my wings
Then set them free
Didn't know where the sky would turn
But it came to an end
However I believe this kindred soul
Will be a part of my life
Again and again.

this is beautiful. a perfect homage to a loving friend. this man sounds as if he deeply touched you and left an invisible impression in your soul. perhaps you did the same to him, maybe you should ask him...sounds like a good person, this huckleberry. tell him he had better be good to you or quinfinn will be his johnny ringo.....very good poetry here, Tarry.

Ha, I was shocked when I opened this to see the pic...then delighted to read your lovely poetry. Huckleberry's are good to have, always need one around to lift your spirits and believe in you. This is a great one Tarry, thanks for sharing.

Not bad, and you've gotten your message across very well. It's a little short, though, and I feel like there's still room to expand on this idea. Either way, though, this is still very good. Well done.

Oh, yes there is much more room to expand, if you only knew. Thank you
Doc Holiday was a great character. I like the description in the poem. Some people in history stood out. Had great personalities and adventures.
