Free Spirit

Free Spirit

A Poem by Tarry Franck

The majestic midnight cool breeze
Blows through my hair
Leaving in disarray
As others love to stare,
A free spirit I have become
And I think they may be jealous
Or who knows
They may be zealous,
However they may feel
My spirit will roam
For if it doesn't
Then I will have not grown

I am playing Devil's advocate here I guess by pointing out contradiction of a spirit which roams. This would meet the standard definition of having no direction and with no direction there is rarely any growth. I only point this because recently i've done some research on the real meaning of the reference of Free spirit. This a person who does not follow a path but is carried by feeling only usual what makes one feel good but not necessarily good for them. This phrase usually is synonymous with independence with the underlying meaning of following one's own independence and not that of Christ teachings. I just thought i'd share want I have learned.

Thank you for sharing Michael.
I would prefer to regret something that I did, rather than regret something I never had the courage to try. Nicely done, Tarry!

Your words are true. We must grow and sometime people we know won't understand. I like the journey and the wisdom in the end. We must expand and learn. Or become forgotten. Thank you for the excellent poetry.
