Alone again

Alone again

A Poem by terry smith

Alone again
crushing my soul
alone in the darkness
I searched for you
but came up empty
...once i built a wall
to protect myself
and I withered ,
and almost died
Then piece by piece
I took it down
to live again
to breath
and I know
that the the wall
has to stay down
even
if
it
kills
me.

-- for me, that wall is the war that i engage in with my 'self'... -- i need it as much as i don't need it... -- maybe constant inner conflict is not such a bad thing after all...

Lost love, and the fear of losing again, but surely what's in between the finding, and, if unfortunate enough to lose it,can be worth the heartache
