Reality Now

A Poem by terry smith

Every night for the last six months...
...nearing
 exhaustion
 heart
 racing,
 body
 covered
in
sweat,
frantically
try
 to
 reach
you...
I run
 into
consciousness
screaming
my
 heart
pounding
bed
 soaking
 wet
I search
 desperately
for you
in the darkness
but
 your
not
 there
and you haven't been
for a very long time

Oh wow. Longing, emptiness, loneliness... The feelings always magnified at night.
Nicely penned.

No one knows the agony of loss and longing better than someone who experiences it...your words paint a vivid picture of such desperation and the pain of realizing that person is still gone is palpable...great writing...

Thank you for your kind words.
...I love it. I feel it often enough. Great expression, Terry!
