Sonnet on Separation II

Sonnet on Separation II

A Poem by Trevor Jay Bloodworth

My love, do you not hear the distant call?

The sound of love which is destined to be?

Pure beauty, like Eve before the great fall,

You stole my heart, never again to see

The world without you and that perfect smile.

I wish I could give you the entire world

To walk across in your eloquent style.

You have taken my loving heart and curled

It into a small piece of torn paper.

Your heart grows for a different lover,

And I disappear like bits of vapor

Into that which you will not recover.

You have forgotten but I still believe,

That we have wonderful love to achieve.
