Cheap Love

Cheap Love

A Poem by Talia

You took my heart out for a spin
No wonder why I often give in
To think of all the things I've done
Simply for another cheap love

I would put on any face
For a never-ending race
You break hearts for sport
And I always seem to fall short

Love isn't what it used to be
Romance is only in the movies
This is a little bit of a letdown
You gave me the runaround

So now you called it quits
And blew my heart to bits
But I guess that it was over
Before I could get closure

Doesn't matter if I hate the pain
They keep playing the game
I thought that I was so above
But all I'm getting is cheap love

Seems we ALL search for companionship on our paths... that other person to share the wondrous and the hurt of our nows. Caring is about the little things we do that we don't have to but want to OR just do because we can. Love ISN'T cheap - we always have to risk our selves and after all of THAT in the final analysis - we don't choose whom we love, just whom we like.

Yes, and we have to deal with the heartbreak along with it. Thanks for reading.
