The Touch of Rain

The Touch of Rain

A Poem by Ashley

Let the rain fall down onto my shoulders

To soak through my clothes

And wash away all of my fears

To caress my skin

Smoldering all of my troubles

To flow into my veins

Rinsing out all of my sadness

To course into my lungs

Filling them with fresh air

To embrace my heart

Freeing it from all harm

To feel once again

What it’s like to live.
