There is a word for something like this, "limerence". There is a psych definition but I like to think of it as confusing lust with love. Something our stupid idiot younger selves almost always succumb to. It is embarrassing to remember some of our unfounded fantasy crushes or misguided relationships that seemed so magical at first... but knowing that we are all dumb assed idiot romantics when we are young helped me get over the unfortunate parts of those memories. Romeo and Juliet went a little too far with their state of limerence... Shakespeare didn't know it at the time but he was making great contributions to the field of psychology with his work. Well, maybe he knew, that's why he was so consistently good perhaps.
