The Shards of Laughter

The Shards of Laughter

A Poem by Sara Henry Heistand
"

Inspired my Peter Tork's persona in "The Monkees" - particularly in "Head".

"

The air

around her

    is filtered through

the shards

of laughter

Though

    she cannot find

            a

single,

sardonic

                  tone

   hiding

The inner despair

           lurks

     knock

     knock

     knocking

at the side door

            The guests

      don’t seem to get the

                        paradox

but the relations seem to

      at least       understand

the complexity

involved

I bow and shake my head

            because

I know the reason

behind

     her movements

fluid like melting sand

            and sharp as wit.

About
It's been a while since I've written (over half a year?) and it's time for me to start up again. My life's back on the right track and now I have the time and the emotional capacity. So on with it. .. more..
