Walk In The Woods

Walk In The Woods

A Chapter by therisa
"

An attempt, at humour, on my part.

"
Don't know
Why my mind is
A wanderin'
Hill over dale
This morning.

Tripping over
Every single root
And broken branch
Before me.

As if
Someone has stolen
My reason to focus
In spite.

Muffling shouts
And depletive bleeps
Under my breath
Over my poor bruised
And battered body.

Thrusting my hands out
Once more
Trying to break
Another disastrous tumble
Down the hillside.

With little success
Beyond more scrapes
And scratches
Upon the palm
Of my hand.

Landing
With a hard thud
Against an imposing Maple
As snow rains down
The back of my jacket.

Giving me
An instant snow job.

But
Am already
Gamely employed.

Thank you very much.

Brushing off
The unwanted snow
From my clothing
Before continuing on
With my trip.

Thank you very much." = lol - very witty my friend. Reminded me very much of the old British Stiff upper lip type comedies.

Captcha even joined in I see lol.

Very good. :D

Thank you, Anto, for your kind words. Sort of a "writer's block" poem, for me. Am glad, you like it... read more
"An instant snow job." Great line. Life often feels like being lost in the woods, doesn't it?

Ouch, Ana. That really sucks.
life is a snow job and we wear the brunt of it both physically and psychologically....
delivered with a smile, and produces a sardonic one.

like this one lots.
