to be alive

to be alive

A Poem by the tipsy writer

Fear is a stark reminder of what living can truly be.

Of why we yearn to be alive in the first place.

When we are fronted with that dread of the worst kind.

We cling to that last, hanging thread that promises tomorrow.

It’s found in the clang of bullets, the crashing of cars, and silence of something completely unknown.

It pushes us with a mighty force to confront what we most want.

To live.

To breathe.

To love.

To be loved.

To know life.

To not die because there is more we must know.

We wake from these desperate moments scared but more alive than we ever known.

About me? Flourless chocolate cake is my favorite thing in this world. I think the movie "Elf" is overrated... sorry, not sorry. I would kill for a fraction of Terry Pratchett's wit. I was switc.. more..
