Reach for it.

Reach for it.

A Poem by featherstoflight

do you really reach for it?
everyday you stumble onto the beaten path of this
you’ve gone down this road before so many time you call it home
greeting every villain before you let them leave the dark
you spot trouble so fast and defined
seeking nothing

do you really reach for it?
falling off each ledge with your hands bracing face
always slipping off the same f*****g place
this is getting old your bones are giving up
these dark moments don’t pity you

do you really reach for it?
your imagination is worthless as it is
give your body function -let it live
all your thoughts are nothing
make a statement" flee from this

do you really reach for it?
all that s**t you dream of…?
of course you dont

Some escalation would help to wind up the reader's apprehension -- reach for it, stretch for it, leap for it...

Second line ends with a "this" -- should 'road' follow?

I'm not sure about the first stanza at all. I don't really get much from it personally.

However, the second stanza slams home -- the only thing I don't get is "bracing face". I definitely understand slipping off at the same footstep each and every time. That feeling that you dust yourself off just to try again to impress those who aren't watching and never cared.

Typo: "dont".

another great one, a lot of passion in the language, yet at the same time there's a lot of great images combined with it. really do like the repetition of the question in each stanza, it keeps your attention throughout.
