The End

The End

A Poem by Sarah Marie

I knew you well, and yet as of late,
You chose others and I received hate.
I grew tired, my soul weakening,
My heart ached once I felt your betrayal;
My past devotion was sickening
As I believed it not you who failed.
I was naïve, I would not accept
My attempts to forgive were in vain;
Confused anger, the tears I wept
Made sorrow follow your  selfish name.
Yet you have chosen and now must live
With these new changes forever set;
I am not depressed, I do forgive-
Yet I promise never to forget.
Goodbye my brother, goodbye my friend;
Eternal friendship has reached its end.
