Unforgiving Heart

Come-hither eyes,

Your whispered lies,

My withered cries-

What you do to me!

No way to deny

You, no way to not cry

Or stop asking why-

Won’t you set me free?

You know I’m a fake-

That I don’t have what it takes

To leave slumber and wake

To a world I will never understand;

I gave your impatient wait

What you wanted, I your bait

To beat the odds but all you gave was hate-

Such a cold, unfeeling man.

You set my heart ablaze;

I only thought of you every day

And all the special ways

You had of making me smile;

I listened closely to all you had to say,

To be your slave I even prayed

Just to keep your wants at bay-

Was I ever in denial!

Your passion fed my kindled fire,

And my tame spirits soared higher

For you, my heart’s highest buyer-

But suddenly all I knew was pain;

I know I was a constant crier,

But you are a lasting liar,

My heartache cold and dire

Because all you saw in me was shame.

May you never forget

What all you did to me;

May you always know

You made me be

The person I am today,

The woman in dismay

At the thought

Of you-

What hell has wrought.

Now this is something very expressive and you have managed to throw out your words in excellent pattern. The heart is broken but the fire is alive. I guess that's the secret of a stable broken heart, it does not matter that your heart is broken, the thing that matter is that one must not let the fire inside diminish ever.
