A Lover's Wish

A Lover's Wish

A Poem by Sarah Marie

I want to sketch your features-

Especially those hidden

And known only to me;

I want to paint your face

On my eternal, pleased gaze

To never forget the joy it gives me.

I want to carve your name

On the tablet of my heart

So that you will forever be close;

I want my blood to pump

In sync with yours, one in the same

As two soulmates should be.

I want to hear the song

That is your lulling voice

Before I sleep and when I wake;

I want to feel the breath

That parts between your thin lips

On my anticipating skin.

I want to write a sonnet in your honor,

Fourteen sweet lines hardly enough

To profess my praise;

I want to scribble down blissful words,

Mirrors to the bliss I cannot help but feel,

And earn your bliss in return.

I wish for nothing more and nothing less

Than the love I find with you;

I wish for only you, to call you my own,

My heart and soul and one true.

I really love this poem. I've always had a weakness for a good love poem or love song. You've really captured the romantic feeling that _ can inspire. I especially love "I want to scribble down blissful words, Mirrors to the bliss I cannot help but feel, And earn your bliss in return..." and the last two lines.

A classic mainstream romance poem. This is written flawlessly and has all greatness embossed to it. The poem flows smoothly and draws the reader in after line just to make you want to read more and more of it. Great piece Sarah Marie.

Thanks as always! Glad you enjoyed this.
This is an extravagant, beautiful essence of the love that flows through you like sweet rivers... May you two flow together as one and form an even stronger, passionate river... one that never ends. xxx

Ah, love's bittersweet song is woven yet again. Okay, melodramatic moment done! I found this peice romantic, endearing, and wonderful to read. It has a really great flow and captivates the reader. (Or, at least, it captivated this reader)

Not bad. There's a very solemn quality to this which makes for a nice tone and image when combined with the lilting sort of phrasing in this. My one criticism would be that this comes across as perhaps a little more doting than is tasteful, but that's a matter of personal taste. Well done.
