Secrecy

Secrecy

A Poem by Sarah Marie

My heart is a labyrinth,
My mind a maze
Where all my hidden thoughts
May forever secretly lay;
My soul is a locked box,
And my body a cage.
My desires skulk behind iron bars
In a prison of my own mind's design;
I have swallowed the key
And there is no bail-
Lest they go out on a killing spree
For all the wants which will never see
The burning, controlling light of day.
