Lighthouse

Lighthouse

A Poem by Sarah Marie

There stands a lighthouse
That harbors the rocks and shelters the sea;
It can nearly reach the painted sky
And the shining sun which reaches down and kisses me.
It is the guard between land
And the shimmering crystals with foaming crests
And children of every shape and color;
It renews the breath within my falling chest.
It survives alone
Atop a sandy, proud and strong hill
Which can very well
Make space and time seem to become still.
It stands alone
So that others may know who creep along its rocky shores
That it is the guardian of land and sea,
The lighthouse keeper of every creature's soul and core
Who have been raised or sent to be
Witnesses of the ocean's moans.

"who have been raised or sent to be witnesses of the ocean's moans" totally killer finishing line. What i adore about this is that it's out of the regular stuff i read about here. Smart move Marie. I love the idea of the lonewolf of lighthouse.
