I sit here on
my 57th birthday
and listen to
Mozart in G minor.
I'm at peace, finally.
Gone are the
grass stains and
scabbed up knees.
I don't climb
trees anymore, but I
do see them.
The brilliant orange
and yellow leaves,
all cracked and happy.
I can smell pumpkin spice,
and hope smells like
a coffee crescendo.
I had fish for dinner.
It's never too late to
start eating healthy.
Life is a symphony.

Thomas W. Case,
Hi. I enjoyed finding your poem. I understood it just fine. What and who we were and how life is lived now was a great theme to appreciate in your poem. Ageing takes so many forms in our personalities and you expressed that too. Yes I do like classical music! Way to go nice one.
Blessings,
Kathy

I like be the imagery of the leave changing colors and cracked leaves. I could probably still climb a tree if I chose to but I haven’t done that for some time. I have however climbed over trees that have fallen on a trail to the creek I like to go to.

As kids we saw trees as playthings now we marvel at their beauty. 57, probably means(beanz) you are Heinz for 365 days :)
Again enjoyed your words

Thank you, much appreciated.
I like your simple style. Aging isn't fun. 61. See, that rhymed.

It's good to see a new face in this town. I hope you stay a while.

Having just read your previous post here and still enjoying it as it swims around my recently refreshed mind .. I note that this, your 2nd one to date appears to be a logical or natural progression .. and full of associated insights .. it is indeed amazing how one sees the world differently as one burns more candles .. and quite agree, it's never too late to make changes and to enjoy what is left of the proverbial fish ..
