My Goodbye

My Goodbye

A Poem by Teresa

Today is the moon of my days,
A darkness so fleeting
Temporary as time.
Your memory too shall pass:
Into the sea of collections,
Joyous I hope,
To be reclaimed as nostalgia
And learned from as better.
I do not weep your name,
My heart not pounding your return,
This wasn't goodbye,
But I know I may never see you again.
I've made peace with that demon,
Held his hand as he cried,
Let the world know of the passing,
And I move on with my life.

Short but very moving. It has the potential to be longer, if you ever wanted to add to it, but it's lovely as a short piece.

I can relate to this so much! Short but so profound.
