We haven't known each other long,

but sometimes you know more about someone in 2 days than 2 months.

We've opened up to each other

Though you seem to think it won't matter now.

We've both struggled with relationships in the past,

Causing walls to be built and guards taller than skyscrapers to loom around us.

The subconscious fear of letting someone else in is haunting

Though we both know deep down we're good for each other.

We share a best friend,

And she's secretly rooting for us.

It's no coincidence that we met

It's no luck, personality, or what have you that we vibe well together.

Giving each other the benefit of the doubt,

Giving each other a chance could prove everything we thought we knew to be wrong.

Or to jump in the deep end just to make life more interesting.

I want to grow and build,

The comfort I've felt has been a long time coming

The anxiety vanishes, my heart racing, butterflies filling me from head to toe.

I crave who you are - affectionate, honest, real.

I crave your soul, no matter how cheesy that may sound.

It's been a while since I've been openly affectionate with someone

Yet I sit here thinking of all those small moments with you.

A brush of the arm, your leg barely against mine,

A long, tight, bury-your-face-in-me hug.

I'm a ride or die, just as our best friend is to each of us.

I hope for more,

It may not make a whole lot of sense, but when your mind works faster and in no chronological order (anyone with anxiety def will understand; not saying other wouldn't), it just sort of comes out how it did above.
