Why

Why

A Poem by Mauricio Montoya
"

who am I

"

Why

I cannot stop a forceful move

Nor move it when it decides to stop

I avoid the depths of water,

because I’m not prepared

Nor fly,

For I have no wings

 I am, only me

Surround by these questions.

Therefore,

Let me not be-filled ,

With the illusion of control.

For I am me

In this vast universe

Of uncertainty

Everybody seems to have an answer in what I should do in life and I’m surrounded by egos so this came to mind I don’t know if it will make any sense but there was a yearning to write it. so please give me your honest opinion as to what you see in this piece.
Thank you
Mauricio

I have thought about this; you expressed this elegantly and with sincere and insightful emotion. Every day, we can ask why and every day the answer will change - depending on who you ask and how they see life; depending on what they were exposed to and depending how they want to shape your mind. Writing has helped me not ask others why anymore....Writing has helped me to see what is and learn each day how the what is, is becoming what was....then my answers to Why are learned. We are all given a chance at life; perhaps some of us to enjoy it; to fulfill a purpose or to just experience something and leave a trail behind for someone else...thank you for the trail.

The beauty if poetry is that it makes sense in different way to anyone who reads it - this is relatable and open to interpretation. Well written.

Yep...everyone has an opinion, the beautiful part is that we can take or leave the advice and still feel good about the outcome. Love the line about control....one thing that we never really have do we...and I think that a good thing. great job.

The last line really brings this whole poem together. When I look at the night sky it reminds me of what a small part of this world I truly am and there are things that I can't change.

It's merely trust in yourself of what may come, for you, your purpose, your story. Nobody knows you like you know yourself even in the moment of adventure and discovery.

Perfect sense, it always appears that someone else knows your life better than you, but you have to do what's right for you and not what others feel is right!

You seem to be caught up in the opinion of others and unable to break away and just be yourself! Have faith in yourself, and shine like a beacon in the darkness. Your strength shall then overcome that which is holding you back.
You have certainly been able to express such feelings of being without a "voice" in your poem.

I could sense the questioning of self and the life you're absorbed in... and I could relate all too well... wondering myself who I am... who I'm supposed to be. Such a personal, vivid write.
