Foolish Pretenses

Foolish Pretenses

A Poem by topsyturvy

I'm a bitter twisted fool for liking the likes of you.

You got me twisted, sensing the deeper depth of my soul

As you consume it with your catatonic state.

As I delve deep into the eternal darkness of doom

I spread my virus into your unkempt flesh.

As it eats the last waves of your rotting membrane

I feed off your hypocrisy of saying my name.

Again and again as the jealousy strikes

Wave after wave of insomnic deprivation

A whole new world to what was once called a nation

The way I've got these words lined up

Confuses you to a whole lot.

I'm the only one who gets it for this my masterpiece.

And you're just a puzzle pretending you're at ease.
