Your Ghost

Your Ghost

A Poem by Gabi

I'm your ghost
saturated in your shadow,
just aching to slide my lips across your neck.
Mind on fire,
blood pooling, breath cooling.
'Why can't I just drown you away?'
this body is my cage
each rib a bar on my cell
each tooth a nip closer to your skin
I'm just a ghost, not even your ghost
Yet you've got me pinned down with just a glance
on my knees, on my knees
all of my fears look like you
arms extended, I want to touch you
but I'm only a ghost....
and each day I melt a little more into your silhouette.
