A Pen's Lament

A Pen's Lament

A Poem by BrokenButterfly

Oh, Miss Poet
won't you please
only write your good poems
using me

The others laugh
and say I stink
because of the words
written in my ink

Don't write your bad poems
with me anymore
I'm already the outcast
of the pen and pencil drawer

Dear human
hear my plea
or else I'll go
on stirke for a week!

No, don't throw me away!
I just needed to vent
I'll continue to write
but do consider my lament.

I thought this was brilliant! I've been going thru a phase where I've been writing from object's points of view. The flow is consistent. The rhyme is good. It was clever and entertaining. Great job!

BTW, I'm Gabi's god-mother and I found your page thru her's. :)

I write when emotions are raw, and almost uncontrollable. It is a temporary fix to a long term problem - having too many thoughts in my head. Sometimes they just need to come out. more..
