Deception, Impossibilities and Brokenness

Deception, Impossibilities and Brokenness

A Poem by Treble

My tears fallen as the leaves in autumn,
My knees trapped between my crossed arms and chest,
My back against the only wall that holds my brokenness,
I give into hopeless desire and wishful thinking.
I dream of fantasies and fairy tales,
Make believe happy endings and redemption for every path astray.
I imagine love,
love without fear,
love without loss.
I imagine forgiveness,
forgiveness without regret,
forgiveness without hurt.
But my tears fallen as the leaves in autumn,
I shrink into a little known abyss within myself.
Happy endings are forever destined for imagination,
Love is a ticking time bomb wrapped in silver tinsel,
Forgiveness is a song about hurt and loss in D Major at 120 beats a minute,
And I am a shelter from the storm made of paper-thin walls.
