Who Am I?

Who Am I?

A Poem by Tiana G

Nameless, faceless, faithless

Is the way I was brought in.

One mother, also with the role of father,

Let’s face it, my life was full of sin.

Who am I?

Named, tagged, with a faith so bright,

May have fallen, a lot, but never lost the fight.

The light, color, glow, luminous within sight,

Gifted me with ability, strength and stability,

Now in hindsight.

Breathing wasn’t easy; the hurdles had me wheezing,

Trapped with no air, space or freedom.

A heart hardened by abuse, temptation and abandonment,

I was freezing.

Who am I?

Used to be a used to be,

Now somebody to the One who’s viewed as nobody.

Yet who saw something in a girl’s folly,

And desired to make her clean and jolly,

Not in the Santa Claus, idol sense,

But He sensed an addition to His infinity plan if that makes sense.

So who am I?

A promise to a purpose I guess,

Ammunition to a weapon that puts other religions to the test.

The test of love,

The test of faith.

With teammates who also run along in the race.

Killing flesh and defeating death,

Friend, sister and encourager based on a single breath.

Of forgiveness, mercy and grace from the One

Whose image was created in hopes that I might have the same mindset,

So He tests faith.

Who am I?

More like whose am I.

Daughter of the most high,

Believing that through my hardship and doubt,

He hears my cry.

Encouraging, supporting, serving, and loving,

Is what my life’s about.

Holy Spirit in me,

Jesus is my friend,

Yahweh is my father

Three in One do these three blend.

Who am I?

If you don’t know by now then ask me.

Humans plan their course; the Lord establishes their steps,

I’m in this race and won’t let the starting line pass me.

Prayer is a preparation to healing and blessing,

Only He understands how I’m truly feeling.

My identity is found in Him,

The reason why I’m even living,

Why I’m even singing,

Why I’m even thinking.

I’m created in His image!

Whose am I?

To end what is just the beginning,

As you are reading,

Comprehending,

Understanding,

Meditating,

Relating,

Imitating,

Hating, wishing, and waiting,

On what has already been in your possession,

Take this as further direction from Him.

Be amazed at what He will create and brew,

Because I know whose I am,

But whose are you?
