The Void

The Void

A Poem by Ricky Campbell

Negative feelings left and right
Not entirely sure if I enjoy this
I always wonder what would happen if I threw myself into the void
Would I have a life time of suffering?
Or finally achieve eternal bliss?
Somedays it feels like I am floating in the void
Targeting others to make myself feel better
Even if it is unintentional, that's what happens
I feel good, but at other's expenses
Is that what they mean by eternal bliss?
When I am targeted, again I feel in the Void
Getting targeted makes me feel depressed
And I know I'm getting what I deserve
But if this is what happens, then I want out
My heart dropping, my thoughts black
Everything around me… black
The mood is all I feel, and it is that of gloom
Is this what the void feels like?
Should I be happy or sad?
Or should I steer clear of the void?
To be happy with no repercussions
Just to go on… Living my life
And live a life with happiness that we all deserve.

It sounds like a numerous line of questions that keep extending. The poem does a good job expressing uncertainty. I hope you will find the answers :)

This really makes you think. We all feel this way if we are honest with ourselves. Unsure of the steps with take and the decisions we make and how they effect others.

This is interesting. I like it. It's sad but I like it. It makes me think about the saying "I'd like to thank the little people I had to step on to get here." I know how you feel. I'm afraid of that every day. It's why I'm okay with people stepping on me sometimes to get what they need. It keeps me honest, keeps me modest, keeps me humble, etc. It may not be the healthiest way to go about it, but it works for me lol. If you ever wanna talk then I'm here. I'm good at advice or at least trying to give advise :P I think you can accomplish great things, anything you want, and even give credit where it's due. Even if you have to step on a few toes to get there, just make sure they get what's owed to them and it will all work out! Sorry if this sounds jumbled, can't think straight right now lol.
