Something Vile

Something Vile

A Poem by Mortricia
"

The dolls are watching me.

"

Fluorescent flickers of overhanging lights
A capsized mattress, teeming with mites
Spiders scatter from cracks in the walls
Fractured glass eyes in the watching dolls
Peering about, stoic as sin
Examining the concave room I'm in
Sludging for direction, left and right
Laden with red, only speckled with white
They focus on disheveled tile
Stretching the floor, mile after mile
A heaping, putrid, musky pile
Resides in the corner-
something vile.
